A Wood-Henge Creation is a unique, finely crafted EDC (Every Day Carry) piece of functional wood art used to help calm and relax you or just play with as a fidget piece. Created from the most beautiful hardwoods available and from artists who make hardwood/acrylic wood blends. Carry a Wood-Henge with you in your pocket or purse and use as needed. They measure approximately 2 inches long and 7/8 inches wide. They are highly polished even though there is absolutely NO finish applied. Use them like you would a worry stone for relaxation - you can rub both sides, or use them as a fidget item by flipping them through your fingers like you would a coin or pen. For most adults, they are just a beautiful piece of wood art they like to play with and display. Most Wood-Henge owners end up collecting many of them.

The curved design of a Wood-Henge is a perfect fit for your thumb. The curves on both sides lie perfectly on the inside of your index and middle fingers making it easy to hold and rub the piece. It also makes it easy to rotate the Wood-Henge through your fingers. Especially good for guitarists and pianists to improve agility and finger dexterity.

Each piece is handcrafted by me, all by hand and takes 2-3 hours to create. Wood-Henges are created from beautiful and sometimes rare hardwoods and made into this simple but unique shape. I now create pieces from combinations of wood and beautiful acrylic designs by world famous pen blank makers. They are then sanded using traditional fine sandpapers (400 to 2000 grit) then they go through a eight stage final sanding/polishing process using 1500 to 12,000 grit using very ultra fine sanding pads. Near the end of the process I am literally polishing the resin in the wood to achieve a mirror like finish. This stage gives these pieces their unbelievable shine and smoothness, often bringing out an iridescence in the wood called chatoyancy.

I never use coatings such as shellac, varnish or oils. Wood-Henges are ultra-smooth to the look and feel. Even the sides have been slightly bevelled so there are no sharp edges. The hand rubbing by new owners of these pieces may increase the shine even more. Rubbing these pieces truly personalizes your Wood-Henge piece. It imparts your own DNA by rubbing and adding to it your own body oils.

Wood-Henges are now available as necklace pendants. The Wood-Henge can be easily and quickly removed from the necklace portion if you wish to use it. These Wood-Henges are little pieces of wearable art. Check them out by visiting my ETSY store front.

Wood-Henge pieces are very collectable as every creation is unique. Many customers have 10 pieces or more in their collection.
